She is working towards the incorporation of sustainable practices and technologies in DHL Exel Supply Chain warehouses.

Mr. Bandaly is a PhD student in the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. His research interest is in the supply chain management field and his doctoral thesis will be on the production-distribution system design. Mr. Bandaly has a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon and a Masters in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University, USA. Before joining the PhD program, Mr. Bandaly worked for 11 years in a leading fiberglass piping manufacturing company in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He managed the department responsible for the execution of all the projects in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and South East Asia. He is a member of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), the European Operations Management Association (EurOMA), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Order of Engineers in Lebanon.

Mr. Banomyang is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of International Business, Logistics and Transport Management at the Faculty of Commerce & Accountancy, Thammasat University in Thailand. He received his PhD in 2001, in the field of International Logistics within the Logistics & Operations Management Section (LOMS) at Cardiff Business School (UK). He was the winner of James Cooper Cup in 2001for the best PhD dissertation in logistics from the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) in the United Kingdom. Mr. Banomyong's main research interests are in the field of multimodal transport, international logistics, logistics policy development and supply chain performance measurements.

Ana Barbosa-Povoa obtained her PhD in Engineering from Imperial College of Science and Technology and Medicine. She is currently an Associated Professor of Operations and Logistics at the Department of Management and Engineering of Instituto Superior Tecnico (IST), Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal. She is also the Head of the Engineering and Management Department of IST, Scientific Coordinator of the Research Centre of Management Studies of IST (CEG-IST) and the Coordinator of the Logistics MBA Executive/DFA of IST/ISCTE/EGP. Ms. Povoa's research interests are on the supply chain management, where both forward and reverse structures are included an don the design, planning and scheduling of flexible systems. Ms. Povoa has published widely in these aresas and supervises several Master and PhD students.

Ana C. Barros is a PhD student at the Centre for Management Studies of Instituto Superior Tecnico, Lisbon, Portugal and a Research Affiliate at the Center for Transportation and Logistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, US.  Her current research focus is on supply chain strategy, supply chain collaboration, and performance measurement. Ms. Barros has several years of work experience in the procurement and material planning departments of German and Portuguese companies. As a Visiting Fellow of Cornell University, she was involved in a research and outreach project for the NYS. Ms. Barros obtained a MBA in Logistics and Entrepreneurship from the Tachnische Universitaet Meunchen, Germany and a MS and BS in Chemical Engineering from the Universidade do Porto, Portugal.
 
Larry Berglund, University of British Columbia PI
Larry Berglund draws experience from three decades of buying in the forest industry, public health care, municipal government, and university operations.  Larry teaches supply chain management courses, seminars and workshops and has written many articles in this area of expertise.  He received his MBA degree from Athabasca University.
Larry self-published Better Ways to Better Deals, the Buyer/Seller Negotiation handbook and presents training programs to sales organizations and buyers in Canada and the U.S.  He developed the City of Granston case study, first published in Purchasing and Supply Management, 13th edition, 2005.
He is on the faculty of the School of Business at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.  In 2004, his paper on the Price Index was recognized as a key contribution at the McMaster University Supply Chain Symposium.  In 2005, his white paper on Sustainable Supply Chain Management Practices won first prize in the practitioner category at McMaster University.  Larry has written on the subject of sustainability and presents a 2-day sustainable supply chain practices seminar for the PMAC.
Larry was directly involved with implementing the first ethical and sustainable purchasing policy for a Canadian municipality in 2005. He is currently the Director of Supply Management for The University of British Columbia.

Shakeel Bharmal has had a long interest in helping Canadian businesses succeed. He is currently the General Manager of Purolator Global Supply Chain Services, a new service launched by Purolator to help Canadian businesses increase the speed and efficiency by which they bring products, particularly imported goods, to their customers. Prior to this he served as Director, Customer Retention and Growth, where his focus was increasing the value that Purolator delivered to its small and medium sized business customers.

Prior to his arrival at Purolator, Shakeel was a management consultant with Oliver Wyman, where he assisted North American clients implement revenue growth strategies. His work crossed many sectors including aviation, rail, healthcare, utilities and trucking. His areas of specialty were business strategy development, service improvement through the supply chain and process redesign. He also held positions in sales and operations management at Mohawk Oil Co. Ltd. where he helped independent franchise operators improve the performance of their retail locations.
 
Shakeel was raised in British Columbia where he worked in the family retail business while completing his undergraduate business degree at Simon Fraser University. During his final years there, he was the Manager of the SFU Small Business Consulting Group, where he helped business owners solve a variety of problems. After graduating with an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, Shakeel received the opportunity to teach a six-week Executive MBA program in Russia.
 
Shakeel frequently lends his expertise as a speaker and writer on various topics including creating customer loyalty, delivering value through the sales force and how businesses can leverage supply chain partners for growth.

Ms. Bhuiyan holds a Master's degree and PhD both in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Concordia University.  Ms. Bhuiyan is an Associate Professor at Concordia University in the Department of Mechanical and  Industrial Engineering and the Associate Director of the Concordia Institute for Aerospace and Design Innovation (CIADI).  Previously, she worked as an Assistant Professor at Queen's University School of Business and as a Lecturer at McGill's Department of Management Science for several years. Her research areas are mainly in operations management and quality assurance, with a focus on new product development processes and lean and emerging tools and techniques for integrating design and manufacturing and reducing waste to improve process performance.

He obtained his B.Sc. degree from Istanbul Technical University in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering and his M.Sc. and Ph.D degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, all in Industrial Engineering. Dr. Bulgak's research areas include modeling, performance evaluation, design optimization, economics of flexible manufacturing/assembly systems, stochastic optimization, revenue management and supply chain management. Dr. Bulgak is a regstered Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers of Ontario.

Alexandra Castro obtained her Degree in Management and Industrial Engineering from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, Portugal in 1996. She obtained an MBA in Management from Escola de Gestao do Porto in 2004. Since 1997, Ms. Castro has been working for Qimonda AG, formerly a Siemens and later on an Infineon Technologies company. She is currently the Planning and Logistics Director of the Qimonda Portugal plant.

His research expertise includes modeling human learning and forgetting curves, workforce flexibility and productivity, inventory management, supply chain management, reverse logistics and the thermodynamics and management systems. He published more than 55 papers in internationally refereed journals. His research has been cited more than 250 times by national and international scholars. He is the editor of the forthcoming book: "Inventory Management: Non-classical Views" to be published by the CRC Press. His industrial experience is in construction management. He is on the editorial boards for the Journal of Operations and Logistics, Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences and Research Journal of Applied Sciences. He is a member of committees for international conferences, and a member of several national and international professional societies.

Mr. Salam is working at Bombardier Aerospace in the Supply Chain Strategic Costing and Financial Analysis Department.  He is also a PhD student in the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering program at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. Mr. Salam holds both a Master of Applied Science and a Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering from Concordia University. some of his research interests include: lean costing in engineering, applied operations research, product development and applied statistical modeling. He received scholarships from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). The scholarships received were the Undergraduate Student Research Award (USRA) for his undergraduate studies and the Industry Postgraduate Scholarship (IPS) for his Masters. His Master's thesis research was in collaboration with Pratt and Whitney Canada (PWC), in which he developed models for estimating design effort for various departments. Dong-Wook Song is Reader in Logistics at the Logistics Research Center, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, IK. Prior to this post, he worked at University of Hong Kong as an Associate Professor of Transport and Logistics Management. Dong is a twice joint recipient of the Maritime Policy and Management Award for Best Paper at the International Association of Maritime Economists Annual Conferences and a Chartered Member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. He received his PhD in Transport and Logistics Management from the University of Plymouth, UK. His research and teaching interests are in managerial and strategic aspects of international logistics and maritime transport. He serves as an Editorial Board Member for the International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management and as a Co-editor for the International Journal of Logistics: Research and Applications.

Ms. Supatn is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management, School of Management, Assumption University, Thailand. She received herdoctoral degree in Business Administration majoring in Marketing from Thammasat University, Thailand, in 2006. Ms. Supatn formerly served as Director of the Center for Business Research and Case Study, School of Business, Assumption University. Ms. Supatn is currently a Coordinator for business research methods and data analysis subjects. Her main research focuses are on decision making processes and behaviour in three levels; individual covering both consumer and employee, group and organizational level as well as logistics and supply chain strategic management and performance measurement.

Rakesh Verma, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Operations Management in National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai, India. He received his doctorate in Operations Research from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India in 1998. He was a DAAD Research fellow at University of Kaiserslautern, Germany during 1998-2000. His research interests include: Facility Location; Transportation Systems; Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) & Fuzzy MCDM; Supply Chain Management and Water Resource Management. His publications have appeared or been accepted in such journal as The Journal of Fuzzy Mathematics, Fuzzy Sets and Systems, Asia Pacific Journal of Operational Research, Physics and Chemistry of the Earth and International Journal of Soft Computing. He is a member of ORSI, India and International Society on Multiple Criteria Decision Making, USA. In future he will be collaborating more in the areas of variants of problems in supply chain.

David Walters BA (Alberta), MSc (Bradford), PhD (Cranfield) is Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at ITLS. He has held posts at the universities of Western Sydney (Sydney Graduate School of Management), Macquarie, Oxford (Templeton College), and the Cranfield School of Management. He has published a number of textbooks in business and marketing subjects, the most recent "Strategic Operations: a Value Chain Approach" was published in 2007. He has published over 30 articles in professional journals. He was the Australasian editor for the International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management from 1998 until 2005. David Walters has teaching experience in a wide range of continents including North America, The Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Africa. In addition to his wide teaching experience he has acted as a consultant for a number of international companies. These include: BOC, CSR, Harrods, Laura Ashley, The Kingfisher Group, Storehouse, British Oxygen Company, Marks and Spencer, Tesco and a number of others.

Ms. Wakefield is Manager of Customs, Logistics and Sustainability for Supply Management at the University of British Columbia. As a C.P.P and member of PMAC for the last 20 years, Victoria draws experience from both the private and public sectors. As an author, teacher and sought after speaker, Victoria's professional experience includes work in industrial distribution, International Print and Trade, BC Transit - Skytrain development, Vancouver Port Authority, The City of Vanacouver and currently with the University of British Columbia. Victoria spent many years as Purchasing and Operations Manager for a large distribution company managing branches throughout BC and Alberta. Working with overseas suppliers and Just-in-time inventories provided a great training ground for innovative and strategic supply chain solutions. In Victoria's current position, she is responsible for the movement of goods to and from the University of British Columbia that has 19,000 staff and faculty serving 50,000 students at two University Locations both in Vancouver and the Okanagan. Victoria manages customs brokerage, courier services, freight, sustainability and integrated logistics needs for products that are very diverse in a University environment, everything from pathogens to sacred historical artifacts.

Dr. Guoqing Zhang, P.Eng., is an Associate Professsor in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, University of Windsor. He received his PhD degree in Management Science from City University of Hong Kong. His research interests are optimization in supply chain management, layout, combinatorial optimization, and algorithms design and development. His papers have appeared in professional journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Production Economics, IIE Transactions, Operations Research, and IEEE Transaction on Robotics and Automation.
