The event kicked off with a keynote from renowned China expert Dr. Linda Sprague, First Emeritus Professor at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai. Sprague’s keynote highlighted the incredible speed of growth in China and touched on the evolving infrastructure as well as business policy in the country.

A pair of researchers from the United States and Switzerland won the Best Paper Award for their work on managing new product development across a global supply chain. The prize went to Mike Tracey, Western Illinois University, U.S. and Roger Neuhaus, University of Fribourg, Switzerland for their paper Collaborative New Product-Process Development on a Global Scale.

The Symposium also featured research presentations, interactive panel discussions and a tour of Toronto’s Daily Bread Food Bank for a behind-the-scenes glimpse of its complex supply chain.
